LINDSEY WILHARM
A True Christian Conservative at Heart
Lindsey Wilharm believes that government should be limited and reduced in order to reduce corruption and increase efficiency. Government exists solely to protect our God given individual freedoms and serve the people in their righteous pursuits. Lindsey believes adhering to the original principles of the U.S. Constitution is essential to maintaining our freedom. The rule of law is how society is able to preserve life, liberty, property, and carry out justice. It is the job of the government to assure the rule of law is practiced fairly and consistently. Increased audits and investigations should be carried out to ensure this is the case. Voting is the core method that enables every American can participate in their government. The integrity of voting needs to be protected at all costs. Eliminating mail in voting, requiring identification, and making Election Day a federal holiday is the simplest solution to preserving fair and honest elections. The United States maintains peace through strength, and this is achieved through a well trained and equipped military. One of the biggest challenges America currently faces is blatant fiscal irresponsibility. Tax payers should not have to watch as their hard earned money is carelessly spent overseas while our infrastructure crumbles, citizens struggle, and the national debt increases astronomically. Money is utilized best when kept in the pockets of hardworking Americans. Income tax was meant to be a temporary aid for our military, but it has become a global slush fund, aiding the militaries and societies of potential adversaries. Our intelligence agencies and department of justice need increased judicial oversight, and repercussions for continuously failing financial audits and oversight reviews. The large scope of corruption in every division of the government is disgustingly clear to the American people who demand successful solutions. Lindsey believes in America first and America only, our taxes should be spent on our citizens, our infrastructure, and our military. We need to prioritize and focus on restoring national sovereignty. The United States should not be expected to be the policemen and welfare lenders of the world. We need to limit use of our military power and reestablish ourselves as a global beacon of peace and freedom. The government has increasingly restricted the free markets, creating unnecessary obstacles that prevent economic expansion. Free markets thrive when oversight is limited and hard work and self-sacrifice are rewarded. Hard work should always be highlighted as the path out of poverty. Welfare programs have become a breeding ground of corruption that are recklessly unregulated, and all encompassing under the guise of empathy. We need to ensure the assistance is going only to the people who are desperately in need. The government should create other programs or incentives enabling people to help themselves. If we do not reverse the course of corruption within our government, the foundation of our constitutional republic will further crumble enabling chaos and lack of respect for the rule of law.

Lindsey's Christian faith is at the core of who she is, and the foundation upon which she makes all decisions. Christianity commands us to love one another, even our enemies. She believes the founding fathers based the most essential principles of our constitution on the components of these values. This does NOT mean Lindsey believes the United States should be exclusively Christian, she respects the separation of church and state. However, she also believes you cannot separate politicians themselves from their faith and moral foundations. God asserts uniquely, and only, through Christ that all of us, poor or rich, man or woman, jew or gentile, born or unborn, were created in the image of God. The other Abrahamic religions that are now represented by a growing number of politicians in our government, do not share this same assertion. While Lindsey upholds that everyone should have the freedom of religion, it is evident that the societies with most freedom are grounded in Christian values. Christianity is the only monotheistic faith in which Love for all people is the guiding principle. Lindsey believes it is an essential job of the government to protect all life, especially life within the womb. It is not the age, location, or conditions of one's conception that give it value. Infants and children are the most deserving and requiring of government protection, and their wellbeing is the hope of society's future. Lindsey asserts that the government honoring, encouraging, and even incentivizing, marriage and childbearing will help maintain healthy communities, and secure the future strength of our country. Being able to have a family and own a home is the core of the American dream, a dream that every hard working American should be encouraged and able to achieve. Lindsey's Christian faith reminds her that trials and tribulations are part of God's design in order for us to seek Him. We are not promised ease, equal resources, or abundance however through faith and obedience God will provide each and every person their biological needs. In circumstances where people struggle to meet their needs, greater responsibility should be placed on religious institutions to assist the people. Participation in a religious community will help those in need to heal the root causes of their poverty. As people continually turn away from relying on God and faith, they have become overwhelmingly reliant on the government instead. We cannot reject God as the ultimate arbiter of human rights by giving the government supreme authority over distributing resources. Socialism disconnects the people from God and each other by attaching them to the will of the government. Lindsey has dedicated herself to carry out the will of God, and hopes to do this in U.S. Congress by upholding the constitution, highlighting the truths in God's written word, and by following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. She prays and hopes to restore the power of being One Nation Under God with Liberty and Justice for All.
